Happy Beltane!

Now the wild strains call me,
fire and green,
to the feast, to the dance,
of desire.

And the flush blooms stretch,
beckoning yield,
with the burgeoning song
of life’s choir.

Let us twirl in spring’s heat,
laughter and joy,
while the sun stamps a hoof
in the blue.

Let us dine on wet lips,
lush berries and wine,
wearing garments of whisper
and dew.

And when the moon rises,
shimmer and sigh,
to swim ‘cross the mirror
of space

Let us lie, crushing violets,
tremor and touch,
in our twining and grasping
of grace.

Let me drink from your hollows,
honey and brine,
Let us paint twisting arches
of flame.

‘Til we turn, drunken languid,
cupping and spoon,
and your sleeping breath echoes
my name.

Thank you darlin'...it is one of mine *looks sheepish*

I'm never pleased when I try to rhyme...my rhymes are too predictable and puerile...but this one wanted to rhyme (dang it).

Happy Beltane to you - and abundant blessings of love and thriving.

Love, J

Wow. *yummy shiver* Your luscious imagery, and the vivid immediacy is truly delicious.

Dang, woman, you got talent. But I knew that already.

Blessed and joyous Beltaine to you!

Thank you dear one...I enjoy writing poetry, but have only recently been brave enough to share it on LJ. This is not one of my stronger ones, but it was fun to roll around a bit in today's energy as I let the words tickle my fingertips.

I hope your holiday is blessed and kissed with joy and that you and your family have a wonderful evening. Soon, soon - warm days will be with us.

Love, J

This stanza is really nice:

Let me drink from your hollows,
honey and brine,
Let us paint twisting arches
of flame.
