Another poem from days past...

Season's House

Capture me and hide me in your Spring,
where I can thrive on seed and tender shoots
Keep me, eternal April, and I’ll sing -
dressed in cherry blossoms and new roots

Let me slip into your summer green,
in lush perfume of silken sultry bloom.
Wrap me tight in June’s emblazoned sheen.
Burn me with the heat of highest noon.

Lay me down in whisper of rust leaves.
Tell me tales of distant worlds outside.
Let the Autumn branches be our eaves –
our windows hung with secret tumbled sighs.

When winter comes, don’t think to set me free.
No, let me freeze these moments, crystalline.
I’ll keep the dancing snowflakes company
In this our home of dreaming, lost to time.

I’d leave behind all bricks - to tend this house of verdant peace;
Eternal arms whose sheltering warmth – like seasons – never cease.

2006?
