Walking

Walking* ~

Notes that drop and ring of water
press close, masking the songs of Granville.
Steps sound silent through the verdant lane
and life pulls small beneath the brolly shade.

There is comfort in this, in this pluvial distance,
this prismatic sorrow, this small death;
Refracts both warrior and the milkmaid,
churns red hope beneath black doubt.

So she hums and travels
sole and nascent,
seeking the courier’s home,
living as a sprinkler in the rain.

Thank you.

Thank you. It is always a risk for me to post my poetry. I've received unfavorable feedback about it in the past. I'm very tender over it as it is so intimately mine.

Thanks for not throwing rotten tomatoes ;>) ~ J

Great poem
From what I read you've nothing to fear posting your poetry. It flows nicely, rolling off of the tongue. Good work.
