Tipping the Velvet

Thorn recommended a Sarah Waters novel; Tipping the Velvet, which I happened to pick up used for under $5.

I was immediately enthralled and read 2/3 of the book in one evening. I really love Waters' writing style and her "author's voice" captured me in a way that has not happened in quite a while. If Velvet finishes as well for me as it has read thus far, then I'm quite a fan.

Tipping the Velvet is one of my favorite books. I would also recommend any of Water's other books though a couple of them are a bit darker.

I plan to give them a try, given how much I love "Tipping". "Affinity" and "Fingersmith" both sound fascinating

What JZ said. Affinity is probably the best-crafted, overall, but Fingersmith is so much fun to read. I actually haven't read Nightwatch yet, even though I have it. Sarah Waters is AMAZING.

DANG - all these great reviews from folks I love and respect are filling me with burning book lust for Water's other works. Must...not...give in to evil Lord Borders....must haul lazy ass to library or used book store...
